UBAS Charity Work
UBAS follows the RAF tradition to support both local and national charities, as is the case on all squadrons throughout the RAF. Each year the Squadron chooses which charities it will be supporting and decides on ways to raise money. This coming year the squadron will be supporting the British Limbless Ex-Service Men’s Association (BLESMA); Combat Stress; and the West Midlands Air Ambulance (WMAA). The WMAA has been a charity the squadron has supported for a number of years, not only as a local charity but also because they use the same airfield as the Squadron does. For the past two years the squadron has undertook charity bag packing at local M&S stores and has raised over £3800. A squadron calendar was also produced by Off Cdt Parry for UBAS students, with all proceeds going to the chosen charities.
