The force development pillar encompasses a range of activities aimed at improving military skills and leadership. This includes weapons training and simulated military exercises.
After successfully completing weapons training, students are taught
battle tactics and field skills before embarking on a staged exercise
in the training area. Here, students learn leadership and courage in
themselves as they command their fellow troops in a battle scenario to
accomplish the goal. Strike exercises are physically and mentally
challenging, with arguably the greatest personal development and sense
of accomplishment of any activity on UBAS.
